What’s In My Bag This Month - February

I didn’t plan for my bag to become a snapshot of my inner life but it always does.
The month shows up in what I carry: the tools, the reminders, the comfort items I reach for when I’m zooming around the city.
And because I’m usually living out of one of my handmade handbags (the kind that can take a beating and still look beautiful), the contents end up feeling like a little capsule collection of my current season.
Here’s what’s in my bag this month, and the meaning behind each thing.
Journal

Every January starts with me picking a brand new journal/planner. This ritual is as sacred for me as picking my intentions for the year.
I’ve tried everything from the Hobonichi to Moleskin to my current favorite large hardcover - I chose it because it gave a full page for each day.
During the day I dream, and dream, and dream so I like a lot of space to scribble my daily musings.
My journal anchors me back to reality where I need my feet on the ground.
No week ends without me crossing off every item on my weekly to-do list. I started this ritual in 2016 and haven’t looked back. In essence, my journal is the manager that never leaves my side.
Book

Currently I’m semi-reading 4 books but the one I carry with me in paperback is What To Say When You Talk To Yourself by Shad Helmstetter
I’m learning to spot the daily words that shape my sub-conscious chatter.
Why?
Over the years its become clear to me that this chatter shapes much of the feelings I’ve memorized and cycle through on a daily basis.
Self Talk is the start of changing that pattern for the better. Having this book in my bag makes me feel like I’m practicing, not just hoping.
A Stone Scarab Beetle

My word for the year is transformation
On my last trip to Egypt, I bought a blue inked scarab beetle made of stone. Since then I’ve been putting it in random places around the apartment.
It caught my eye again a few weeks ago and has been a friendly companion in my bag reminding me that even little steps can carry the seed of massive transformation.
A New Blooh Wallet Sample
There’s always a new Blooh sample product in my bag - this month it’s a small, uniquely shaped wallet that I can’t wait to show you soon!
I like to test out our products day to day so it’s easier to spot defects and improvements.
Beauty
Chloe Travel Perfume
Dior Lip Oil Gloss
I used to think what I carried was purely practical, keys, cards, just-in-case items. But lately I’ve been noticing that my bag carries artifacts of my own identity.
It’s a way to slow down and pay attention to what’s important to me whether it’s new habits in formation or yearly progress.
Maybe that’s why I’m so drawn to handmade handbags in the first place. I’ve always loved the quiet intimacy of real handcrafted bags like our Utility Tote - the way they age with you no matter what you throw at them.
